Alexandre Canonico presents “BURACO” (HOLE), his second solo exhibition at Galeria Marilia Razuk. The show includes a series of wall pieces and an installation in which the artist uses the idea on emptiness, lacking, suppression, and wrecking as the central elements in building the artworks. Making use of an economy of materials, the pieces are structured from the negotiation between the parts that comprise them and the contrast between distinct materialities.

Alexandre Canonico is currently a graduate student at the Royal Academy, in London. His recent exhibitions include Standstill (Kubik Gallery, Porto, 2019); Premiums: Interim Projects, and Serpent and Shadow (both at the Royal Academy, 2019).
